Tommy Reynolds Off-Camera Flash Workshop

Tommy Reynolds Off-Camera Flash Workshop

Last Saturday I assisted my good friend and fellow photo geek Tommy Reynolds at his off-camera flash workshop at the Tram House in Clapton, London.

I remember a few months back when I went along to have a look around the Tram House with Tommy to see if it was a suitable space for the workshop. We both fell in love with it and it was a no-brainer! The location is perfect for any photography workshop or to hire out as a studio. I love the rustic feel it has to it, with its brick walls and leafy plants hanging over the balcony. It's ceiling windows give the perfect natural light which is a big win for photographers. Above all it has the most fun hammock-chair attached to the beams, which of course is my favourite feature. It was fair to say everyone involved in the workshop absolutely loved this space!

I arrived bright and early to the Tram House on the morning of the workshop, and eagerly awaited for the class to arrive. Once everyone was seated Tommy gave an inspirational talk about photography and introduced the Pixapro flash we'd be using for the day. It wasn't long until everyone was comfortable and the geeky photo chats were well underway.

There were three different stations with different models, and each station had 4 people with an assistant. The class rotated every half hour or so, so each person had plenty of time to pose the model and experiment with the light. I was so impressed by everyone's creativity and enthusiasm. Each person had their own ideas and individual style. It reminded me just how wonderful photography is; it shows we all see things through a different perspective.

The day flew by and it wasn't long until it was all over and we were packing the equipment away. I was so happy to see everyone excitedly showing off their images, and talking about how they couldn't wait to get home and edit them.

I don't think the class could have been better! Tommy was blessed to have such friendly and enthusiastic attendees for his first workshop. There has been nothing but great feedback and it seemed everyone came away with new skills, confidence, and of course, friends.

I hope to see everyone again in the near future, and have already been speaking to many of you.

Congratulations to Tommy for hosting a brilliant workshop for photographers of all levels. You did a fantastic job! *Proud friend moment*.
