Pre-travel Photography

Before I write this post I would like to justify any bits which sound stupid or as if they don't make sense. It's past my bed time and I've left my reading glasses at my other home. Everything is a bit blurry and the letters are jumping all over the place.

Here are a few shots I would like to share which I took in London practising with my new 10-20mm wide angle lens. I bought this lens as it's suited for capturing city landscapes such as these therefore great for the trip I have ahead of me. I have a love for landscape and street photography and it is a dream of mine to explore the world with my camera. So now that I have graduated and I'm in thousands of pounds worth of debt I am doing what any young adventurous and not very sensible female would do - I'm spending thousands more to pursue my dreams. I thought why not? I worked hard, I got my 2.1, I saved up all summer...I deserve to. Oh and the countless times people have said the sentence 'If you don't do it now you'll never do it' has also convinced me that now is the time. My flight leaves in less than a week and I'll be spending a month in different parts of America including New York, Washington DC, and California.

I've chosen to visit America for several reasons; the weather is nice, the food portions are huge, and the accents are super sexy...I will find myself a hunky Ashton Kutcher look-a-like who will fall in love with my cute British accent and give me my green card to stay and live the American dream forever. Uh huh.

On all notes of seriousness I wish to travel America because this will be my first time out of Europe (does North Cyprus kind of count?) and I absolutely will get lost and make a fool of myself but will it matter? No because I will be surrounded by hopefully friendly English speaking people who are just waiting to give out directions to defenceless little me. I am also dying to capture the New York skyline at night as well as all the other wonderful cities I will be visiting. Once I've had this experience I'm hoping I'll feel ready to travel further out of my comfort zone to the more exotic locations such as India, Africa and China.

I just about have everything I need to start my adventure (including a super cool suitcase which also transforms into a backpack - wowza!) so now I'm just counting down the days. I must also search for my passport...
